The levy is expected to generate $946,600 annually and may only be used for the general operations of the district. The revenue from this levy accounts for 12% of Triway’s property tax collections and 5% of the total General Fund receipts.
Property owners are not assessed the full 5.5 mills. The effective rate (due to reduction factors) is presently at 3.15 mills. As the market values in the district grow (through valuation updates or new construction), the millage is adjusted (lowered) to meet the $946,600 threshold.
Renewing this levy is vital to the financial health of our District. Its revenues help maintain the day-to-day operations such as: classroom stability, supplies, utilities, and transportation.
