Science Club
Mr. Shutler and Mrs. Farrar - Advisors
The high school Science Club is extremely popular. The club does not have regular meetings, instead it conducts out of school activities on weekends.The exact nature of the activities varies from year to year, depending on student leadership.
A highlight of each year is the annual trip to Hocking Hills State Park in unglaciated southeastern Ohio. During the trip, students have an opportunity to see what Ohio looked like before the glaciers on an up close and personal level. Hikes through gorges and along cliffs ranging to 200 feet high keep everyone's attention.
The trip is made possible by students paying for food, transportation, and lodging.
Students can work recycling centers in Shreve or Blachleyville on Saturdays from 9-1200 noon to pay for portions of their room and board.
