Medicaid information may only be accepted through the direct certification report that is received directly from the Ohio Department of Medicaid

How do I know if I'm eligible?

The criteria often change from year to year, so we encourage everyone to apply to find out. It's easy and it's confidential.

Are students who receive free or reduced-price meals identified when they get their breakfast or lunch?

Absolutely not. Everyone who checks out in a Triway cafeteria simply punches in their student code into the pinpad. No one sees how your meal is being paid for. Your privacy is protected.

My family likely could benefit from this, but would we be taking resources away from others who may need them more?

No. Actually, the opposite is true! First, there are no limits on how many families can sign up. Second, Triway federal funding for many educational programs is based on the number of students who sign- up for free or reduced-price meals. By taking part, you are helping all Triway students.

School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits as was done before the pandemic. Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First.

Free and Reduced lunches are determined by Direct Certification or Application .  Applications can be confidentially submitted via PaySchools Central .  Paper applications are also available.  This application process is required every year. To ensure a free or reduced status, please submit an application, otherwise meals will be charged.
